People

In the The First Age, the people were all one. During the The Lost Age, we became divided. Tige and Talla helped us see that we were all one people with the same needs for acceptance and stability. First and foremost, we are people.

Basic Information

Anatomy

People have a complex anatomy, including a skeletal system for structure, muscles for movement, and organs for vital functions.

Morphologically, people are bipedal with a large brain, opposable thumbs, and a unique facial structure. This combination allows for advanced cognitive abilities, dexterity, and diverse physical capabilities.

Genetics and Reproduction

People inherit their genetic traits from their parents through DNA, which contains the instructions for growth, development, and functioning. Reproduction occurs through sexual means, involving the combination of genetic material from both parents. This process results in offspring with a unique mix of traits from each parent, ensuring genetic diversity and the continuation of the species.

Growth Rate & Stages

People go through several growth stages, each with distinct characteristics:

  1. Infancy: Rapid growth in height and weight, development of motor skills.

  2. Childhood: Steady growth, cognitive and social development.

  3. Adolescence: Growth spurts, puberty, and emotional changes.

  4. Adulthood: Physical growth stabilizes, focus on maintaining health.

  5. Old Age: Gradual decline in physical abilities, focus on health and well-being.

Ecology and Habitats

People are highly adaptable and can thrive in a wide range of environments. They have settled in diverse habitats, from the Icelands of the far north to the harsh deserts of Tilth and the Spicelands, and from bustling urban areas to remote rural regions.

People modify their surroundings to suit their needs, building homes, infrastructure, and communities. Their ecological impact varies, influencing local ecosystems through agriculture, urbanization, and resource consumption.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

People have a range of sensory capabilities that allow them to perceive the world around them. These include sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. Additionally, people can sense temperature, pain, and body position. These sensory inputs are processed by the brain, enabling people to interact with and respond to their environment effectively.
