Rings of the Lazurite Academy
Rings, simple or ornate, abundant everywhere. Yet some stand out. Some more so than others. The Rings of the Lazurite Academy are among the most unique in all of Arelia. Each ring is unique and can have any design or stone the wearer chooses but cannot change thereafter. Due to this, it is difficult for anyone to tell if a wearer of these rings is a mage of the Lazurite Academy or not. Only other members of the Lazurite Academy are able to tell is another person is a member or not.
These rings function as magical Rings of Spell Storing. However, the mages of Lazurite Academy have made many changes to those common. For starters, these rings only take up one attunement slot. The first ring holds 5 spell slots worth of spell but every ring there after, holds an additional two spell slots. However, the mages were not so foolish. Only members of the Lazurite Academy can attune to these rings. In addition, even if a mage is slain, only that particular mage can wear their rings and use them, to prevent would be necromancers, death of the owner destroys the rings in a blast of arcane energy 30 feet wide (DC 15 Dex Save for 3D12 Force Damage or 1/2 on a success). The rings cannot be removed by any means by anyone.
To the Mages of the Lazurite Academy, each ring signifies a mage's arcane abilities and rank of learning within the academy.
Each is as follows:
One Ring: Initiate
Two Rings: Acolyte
Three Rings: Adept
Four Rings: Fellowcraft
Five Rings: Magi
Six Rings: Elder
Seven Rings: Master
Eight Rings: Magus
Nine Rings: Arcanus
Ten Rings: High Council
Each Ring also grants the wearer access to certain levels of their perspective tower. In order to benefit from any aid from the Lazurite Academy (discounts for items to be purchased, entrance to any Lazurite Tower or favors), one needs to be a wearer of the Rings of the Lazurite.
