Solulanate of Zalja

One of the three pillars of Zaljan government, meant to support the Holy Khan. The Solulanate is a counsel of twelve hibans, elected to rule on matters of faith in the nation. Each member serves for life, and replacements are made by popular vote of its own membership. There are only two rules for entry. A potential member must have a demonstrated record of adherence to the faith, and they must be a natural born citizen of Zalja. This latter point was inscribed to keep the Holy Solulan in Khabar from wielding too great an influence. The Solulanate's power is equal to that of the Maliqate and the Commonwealth, but since there are only twelve members, the Solulanate can work in concert far more easily, essentially granting them more influence and power than either of the other pillars.
