Holdfast on the Hill
Also called the High Hill. Home of the Wizard Quyneth. A five-story drum tower with crenelated top, the Holdfast is built at the top of the hill from which it takes its name. It is separated from the capital city of Revelback by the Rootwood to the north, which sweeps down and encircles the Hill from the west and east.
The Holdfast features a kennel at the western foot of the Hill, and a stable at the eastern.
The Wizard retains a household of several dozen, including her first apprentice Eiris, second apprentice Vera, steward Old Dona, spellers Young Lora and Gretchen, and various kitchen staff, attendants, guards, and others.
