Golbran Ainros

Called the Ruby Prince

Prince Golbran Ainros

Prince Golbran was the first son of Gwydion the Great. He distinguished himself early as a great warrior and Teller. Charismatic, bold, and comely, men and women alike gathered to his side. Though his father King Gwydion is remembered fondly, at the time many looked forward to the reign of this compelling young man.   In 878 he married Princess Illel'Nyl from Liddinawth. Together they had two sons and two daughters: Prince Gwynt (880 RA), Princess Aedein (883 RA), Prince Sammis (884 RA), and Princess Gilda (886 RA).   Prince Golbran rode to war in the Southern Rebellion in late 885 RA, and would never see his youngest daughter. He was slain in the Battle of the Blue Wyrm in 888 RA, killed by a murderous Eysch mercenary named Hanred Sonh, who garnered a reputation for killing nobles.   Such high hopes were kept for the gallant Golbran that he was called the Ruby Prince, for his brilliant Ainros-red hair. Those who choose to recall history harshly will now call him the Blue Prince, saying he drowned in or died near the Blue Wyrm.
