Folq Baai

Also called drowning, bathing, and cleansing, Folq Baai is an ancient funerary rite of the Rathi. It involves submerging a dead person in water as sacred words are spoken over them. Many of those who live near the sea will actually set their dead out into the waves. This is one reason why the Rathi are so mistrusted, as all Milosians have historically displayed a great fear of the sea, and its dangers figure strongly both in the Deinain and Hostly faith.   Most Milosian faiths describe the underworld as existing beneath the sea. In particular, the Five Hells, Ulthran's Realm, and the King of Monsters are all said to be found under the waves. Modern Rathi will claim that being taken by the waves is inevitable, and that this ritual begs the Deinain (or even the Monsters) to take mercy on the dead.
