Galactic Standard

Galactic Standard is an Arcadian-based melting pot of various laryngeal languages from across known space. It is the de facto common language of the galaxy, since the Aehr -native Arcadian speakers- were the first explorers to chart the galaxy and make contact with the various sophont species of early-modern Orranysis. The language is less necessary in modern times given the increasing sophistication of implanted neuromatic translators, but thanks to its prevalence over the last several tens of thousands of cycles, it remains the dominant interstellar vocal language for beings with the appropriate vocal structures.   Achieving a truly universal galactic language usable in daily life is practically impossible in a supercivilization with such vast sophont diversity as the Orranysis galaxy, as communication methods for a given species of intelligent being can be sonic, subsonic, ultrasonic, tactile, chemical, electrical, magnetic, or electromagnetic in nature. The closest approximation to a universal auxiliary language is Logos, the binary-logic-based language constructed to form the basis of more sophisticated translation matrices. However, many of the most prominent civilizations in the modern galaxy communicate through sonic-range vocalizations with mostly-similar structures, allowing Standard to proliferate as a useful auxlang.
