Culture

For a knightly order, the Iron Wings are not that knightly. They do not care much for chivalery and honor, nor is the concept of a noble sacrifice something that speaks to them. Once humble workers who had little contact with high society, part from a baronessa's nephew. They lack the formal attitudes and etiquette that most knights are forced to learn and can often be seen as rowdy or respectless. In contrast though, they are ingenious and openminded. Not judging people based on birth or where they came from, as much as how they treat their fellow brethren and uphold the old qualities of Morin Industries.

Public Agenda

The Iron Wings mainly serve as an auxillary force to be used in battles with hard terrain, especially around mountains. Alternatively, they may be sent in as shocktroopers in large scale conflicts to sow chaos among enemy ranks. Their agenda is to protect and help the main armies of their faction to break enemy lines so they can swiftly gain ground forwards with minimal losses. As for their motivations, they wish to see all cultist forces within the empire of Diestria to be crushed.

Assets

Beyond a massive factory, ties to Oquitanian nobility and some incredibly epic wargear, like the beetle-plate, their pride and the main source of their power comes from the flying fortress known as the Sanctum of Steel. A massive skyship which serve as their headquarters, training facility, temple and transport.

History

The start of the knightly order that became known as the Iron Wings, was a humble one that grew from an industrial factory, owned by the brother of a trade Baronessa, as well as his wife. The factory stared out as a small time business manufacturing parts and engine components for ships, though changed it's direction when the son of the owners took over business. Instead of focusing on normal waterborne vessels, they aimed for the skies by creating more intricate skyship components.   Eventually, they'd move out of the old factory to buy up a plot of land within Normania, allowing them to create a larger, more modern facility which was only days away from their buyers. Allowing Morin Industries to grow significantly in wealth, expertice, contacts and employees.   It was mostly smooth sailing for them, except for one little incident that gave them the Normanian Fire Battalions ire, for a short while. The true tradgedy was when their leader, Quentin roc Morin, had his hand cut off during a confrontation with a cabalist during a banquette with his aunt and the rest of the noble family.   Having been something of a rockstar boss, who often went out to take an ale with his workers. Not to mention putting a lot of his coin and time ensuring their welfare, the news of his near death experience was not met with opportunism or shrugs from Morin Industries. They were furious and ready to take up arms. Especially so, as the truth of the Carnal Hunger spreading throughout Oquitaine came to light. It was then and there, with the wings of the factory cut away, that they replaced them with cold sharp steel.

Military

The knights of the Iron Wings are an odd but yet terrifying force to face. Especially for cultists that believe hiding in hard to reach places, like the top of mountains or castles, render them safe. Their tactics usually involve leaping straight out of their flying bastion while soaring down towards their enemies. Then opening fire with gunblades, rifleaxes and other ranged and melee combined weapons. Though many bullets will miss, their aim is to either decimate or spread chaos among enemy ranks before their wings, being steel implants of their armour with large propellers keeping them afloat, allow them to whirl like corkscrews through their foes.   Though this tactic may seem reckless, especially as their decent or fighting on the ground would make them vulnerable, thanks to the armours weight, they make up for it by staying airborne as much as possible, while serving more as an axuillary and never as a main fighting force. Rather, their goals are usually to swiftly swarm and capture vital points like narrow mountain passages, river bridges or tower fortifications. Alternatively taking out siege equipment or exposed infantery that lacks melee defence.

Religion

The Iron Wings are worshippers of the Holy Bullet. Hence why their crest is also a shield, with a golden bullet in the middle of it. Soaring with the help of two metal wings that stretch from it's case. Ironically, the Wings are almost zealous in their devotion to the holy bullet, which compels them to fight even wilder while descending from the skies.   At times, it even happens that one of the knights for a quick moment gets so engulfed in their act of delivering penance to evil, that the holy bullet embraces the chamber of their guns, causing them to fire holy bombs straight into the enemies. Sometimes taking out dozens of enemies for each single shot. Though this is only on the rare occation and usually only happens when fighting adversaries like demons and their worshipping cultists.
