Constellation of the Mothertree

Geography

On the northeastern body of the sky, at night one can see the celestial body that consists of a total fifteen stars. Four that spread out like roots from the six ones that rise upwards in pairs, like the trunk of a tree. The other five surround the end of the trunk like a cloud and looks like the canopy. The stars themselves have a greenish glow to them.

History

It thrived in peace and prosperity for thousands of years, on the little isle of dusk and dawn that the Mothertree herself had risen from the surrounding depths, to harbour her children in their new homelands.
Yet as generations came but never went, the islands population was soon to much for her to handle. The resources grew thin and the people starved. In a desperate effort to save her race, the mothertree sacrificed herself and the elven immortality to break the enchantment that bound them in place on the island.
It was an age of sorrow, a hundred years of winter following, but the people kept struggling on without their guardian. They learned to work the lands, herd animals and live without a helping hand. The emptiness without the great mother was however unbearable for some.
Many elves that came to be known as the Wood Elves traveled north through the jungles of Zarawak and into the great woodlands of Awyea’lorea in search for a potential relative to the Mothertree.
The others that came to be the sun and moon empire remained on the island, truthful to tend their mother's grave, when they soon found a new symbol in the nights sky, resembling a tree. Perhaps, she ascended to the heavens they thought, and through her limitless kindness and compassion, the universe itself granted the years first month to the Mothertree, in all her loving splendor.
Sadly, to this tale there is a little detail often forgotten. Its thought in certain circles that the goddess of nature is the Mothertree’s sister and that her hatred towards civilization comes from the cause of her little sisters death.

People born underneath the sign of the Mothertree are thought to be granted increased fertility, kindness and empathy along with green thumbs and a calming demeanour. Like all born in the quarter of rebirth, they are also believed to gifted in the arts of healing.
