Cathedral of the hundred saints.

Purpose / Function

The temple building has stood on it’s ledge, watching over the borders between the Golden empire and Westport for many years. It was originally built, to ensure that those of the consortium would not lose their faith, but ever since, it has been taken over by the Inquisition.   Ever since, the building has stood on it’s ledge, looming over the ocean as the inquisitions chants and prayers can be heard inside. The cathedral and it’s grounds act as a base for them, to plan, prepare, live and perform religious rites inside the grand halls.

Architecture

The building itself reaches twenty meters high of pure polished and smooth stone and consists of two parts. The main block being the entire great hall that is large enough to room a thousand visitors on it’s rows of benches. The other is the tower that reaches twice as high as the rest of the building. The tower isn’t round however, and rises up as a spike, while the roof on the main block is sloped to the left.

History

Built to watch over the sea, the cathedral remains the only religious building on the golden dunes that allow seafarers to dock right next to it during their journeys. It was strategically places there to ease the travel and to make sure the sailors remained faithful and orderly.   The priests that inhabited the grounds soon came to be known as the hundred saints, due to their kindness and hospitality. At such, the cathedral was later renamed after them.

Expeditions.

Due to it's seaside location, the Inquisition uses the cathedral as their main base of operations in the common lands, to more easily set sail and dominate the heathen new lands.
