Order of Martius
The Order of Martius, is named after the Vellish God of War - MARTIUS. It was founded as the Empire was expanding, and the Paladins wanted to be part of that expansion. It was founded on the same principles, and again drawn heavily from the Nobility, although commoners could serve here as the need for troops was great. Although they tended to recruit veterans from the regular legions.
These were the most elite units among the forces of City of Vell. They were part of all major campaigns after their founding, and seen as a high mark for anyone who served in them. One of the few ways to raise ones family up a rung of the social ladder. But the price was high as much of the orders blood was spilt in the Emperors endeavors.
Structure
Marshall - is the commander of the Order. Under him are the Generals on the staff and leading the major units. Several Masters would head of larger sub-divisions within each of the orders commands. Then Centurions would head of the smaller sub-divisions within each Masters command. Then Majors would be present as assistants to the Centurions or as leaders of a portion of their commands. Sergeants are Sr Paladins that have no command, but have leadership roles within a unit. The bulk of the men are Paladins. New members in training are called Pledges.
Public Agenda
To Spread Order to new lands, and Defend the Boundaries where order exists.
