Paul Charles
Paul is the head of the Charles family. He is a simple, parctical man who loves his children, but has had his share of troubles thrown at him in life. He is a very nostalgic man who often gets distracted when he thinks about his past.

Personal history
Paul grew up in a lower class family in Lochines, and had a picture-perfect childhood until it was shattered by his mother's sudden death when he was 13. He had some very bleak and hopeless teenage years because of that, and is father sinking into a terrible depression after the love of his life died. Paul was forced to become independent very quickly, but his life only really got back on track when he met what would be his wife someday, Martha Reid.
She was much like him; practical and sensible. They met when he was 17, and she was 15. She became both the light and love of his life very quickly, and they got married four years later.
Getting married so early was not a normal thing, and few people took them very seriously, so it took Paul quite a long time to gain real respect. He got a job as a Labourer in Asmye, and their first few years of marriage were really tough. They barely had any money, so they rented out a small, cramped cottage. Paul got fired several times, which made it extremely to have any more money for anything other than the bare necessitites. To add on to that, he and Martha constantly fought over the smallest things, and they sometimes went days without talking to each other. Martha also got pregnant three years into their marriage, which bettered their relationship some, but Harry was an extremely difficult child that was constantly fussy and discontented.
However, things looked up one year later, when Paul was promoted and he built them their very own house.
Things were great for about a year and a half, when Martha got pegnant again, but miscarried. They got over their loss together, but another miscarriage a year later left Martha completely devastated and hopeless. She and Paul mourned in their own different ways this time, and Harry was getting more and more difficult. Things began to look up once again when Martha's mother moved in with them. She took care of Harry, giving them a chance to reconnect and heal together. When Harry was eight, still a very hard child to deal with, Martha became pregnant again and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, which they named June. Paul decided that he wanted to be the father that his had been in his early childhood, seeing June's birth as a chance to start over. He quit his job as a Labourer and went to work as a Builder in Lochines instead. This meant that he could be with his family more often. June, unlike Harry, was a very happy and content child, and Martha's mother finally felt that it was ok to move out. Harry, unfortunately, had a nasty temper which just got worse as he grew older. He just grew more distant and detached from his parents the older he got. When he was ten, Logan was born, and he got even less attention than before. When the teenage years set in, Harry hung around Asmye with a particularly bad group of kids, and he would show up late, start screaming at his family and became physically violent. Paul never knew what to do. He would never admit it, but he was almost relieved when Harry moved out at the age of 16. This meant that he could focus his whole attentionon doing things right with June and Logan. This was when his life, once again, took a turn. He felt like he could finally settle down and be content. And since then, he's been proudly watching his younger children grow up.
