Session 32: Confronting Grasti in the Throneroom
General Summary
In the Throneroom
We are under a field of silence. All Grasti did was a wave of her hand. There was a vocal component. (Players complained about that. But the spell happened.) Silence - also made us deaf. She has to wait for us. Then she makes a motion and makes a speech. We hear things again. Silence field is gone. Stormy is crossing her arms and tapping her foot. Grasti acts as if we've been invited to a party. "You're accomplishing so little." "I have multiple armies at my command." "Maybe there is a way you could win...Join me." She talks to each of us trying to tempt us. Stromy's knocking her bow and says that it was Grasti's goddess who made her people move. She feels the temptation to get her lands back is a fake out. Grasti to Cernan: Grasti was a Paladin of Arabeth in her time. She has "won every battle" since. "I will make you Emperor of this world." Rashid asks, "What do you get out of this?" There'd be one side.Cernan addresses each of us:

Alphonse is holding his tongue. Cernan says he'd be king over a dead kingdom.
To Cita: "Does that look like safety?"
Grasti is letting Cernan finish.
Grasti was hoping we would say no. She'll destroy this planet. "I get to kill you now."
The front of the throneroom is filled with drakness and dread. Grasti now has black wings with blood. She says, "Kill them. Kill them all!" There's a "Box of fear" around Grasti.
The Fight!
The geisha's attack first - hit Princess Prentis Leon. Cita held her action but hit back. Cernan attacks Grasti. HITS! And restrains her. Thoradin - hits her hard. Grasti - heals herself. (There's a limited number of times she can do that.)Grasti lost her lay on hands privilegeShe teleported - even while restrained. Box of dread came with her.
Player Note: 10ft close to Cernan = we get a +3 to saving throws
Shimmer is frightened. (Disadvantage on checks, saves, and attcks. Can't move closer.)
Grasti - attacks Thoradin and hits. His left armpit - has a wound that will not heal.
Stormy hits Grasti.
The Queen comes after Thoradin.
Alphonse - Locke attacks his brother Rupert.
Lord Jarrus Ferma II stabs Cernan. Traitor!
Lord Cormal - attacks but misses Stormy.
Ralph attacks but misses Grasti.
Rashid gets hit by a swarm of something. Poisons him.
Shimmer is hit. :( Bad.
Cernan takes out the Geisha near him. First kill!
Cormal was the sacrifice for the tower? We'll meet Grasti there?
Stormy unpoisoned Rashid and gave him a healing potion points.
Shimmer bites her attacker.
Rupert is "Duplicated" and on other places on the board.
Shimmer is hit again - 0 hp. Disappears from the board. Stormy is livid. (This is the first time we lost Shimmer.)
Cernan says to Ferma "Surrender before it's too late" then attacks one of the ruperts. Ferma is scared but not turn.
Thoradin takes out the Geisha in one turn.
Prentis attacks her mother.
Her mother attacks her. Alphonse is baffled looking at "himself". He shouts, "They're all fake - rupert doesn't exist!"
Ralph hits the fake Alphonse!
Cita gets hit out of nowhwere with a blast of energy. That came from an area in the corner. It looks like wall.
Cernan and Cita take psychic damage.
Rashid attacked one of the Ruperts and kills it. Reverted to it's natural form. Dopelganger.
Cernan is down.
Guard hits stormy.
Cita does an AWESOME jump flip.
Rushes the wall. And it disappears. A lady in armor and a rupert are standing in the corner. They are surprised. Hits the lady HARD.
Cernan death save - passed this one.
Thoradin gives him a potion of greater healing. Then hits the Queen hard.
Prentis says "I'm putting you down mother! You betrayed us all." Queen is dead.
Alphonse moves Ralph to get him out of the way and casts lightining bolt. Ferma is dead. Hits a hidden rupert and takes out a dopple ganger.
The gal is the one doing the psychic damage. Rupert dispels the web.
Rashid hits the pyschic gal with firebolt.
The bad alphonse hits Alphonse super hard.
Cernan takes out a fake rupert. Then drinks a potion of greater healing.
Thoradin takes out a rupert. Then attacks the psychic gal. She's dead.
Prentis heads out of the throne room. After Grasti?
Alphonse firebolts a rupert and takes him out.
Rupert uses lightning. Alphonse goes down. Epron is also down.
Rashid firebolt on Rupert. First hit on Rupert.
Cernan lays on hands - uses 20 HP on Alphonse. Then moves to Epron.
Thoradin takes out the rupert in the corner.
Stromy takes out the last guard. Then uses goodberry for Epron. Then Stormy recalls Shimmer. Shimmer takes a bite out of the guy who killed her. Shimmer was visiting her Papa.
Stormy goes over to the guy in the corner and tells him to make a decision of which side he'll be on. He runs. Stormy catches him. "Let me go you wench!" She says, "You chose poorly."
We choose 1 hour rest to regain up to half our hitpoints.
Alfonse told us, during the fight, he had read the mind of one of the Doppelgängers - and found out Grasti had killed his real brother weeks ago.
For next session: The other pillar is at the Cathedral.
From the ginormous pire there's a thrum. It goes active. Darkness starts spewing out the top.
