Squaran

Squarans are cousins to the Octaran, but are more human-like; they are a cross between a humanoid race (human, gnome, elf, etc) and an Octaran.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Most Squaran are human-like, they are a cross between a humanoid race and an Octaran. Usually, if the male is a humanoid then the offspring are born with legs, but variations are possible, and a rare few are able to change between tentacles and legs. Males are dark blue and females have lighter coloring.

Squaran usually takes most of their traits from their humanoid side. These are chosen at creation.

Squaran usually follows the preferences of whichever race they are raised. Most are omnivorous.

This depends on which parent raised them.

Facial characteristics

They have 4 large and multiple small tendril-like appendages in place of hair. These are useful to aid in grappling and gain Improved Grapple as a bonus feat. These appendages can be used to hold small objects but not for combat.

Males often have some of these tendrils as a beard instead of or along with their hair.

History

Squaran only came to be after the Octaran began to interact with humanoid races from the land. They are the children of liaisons between them. Some say the first child came about during the Chaos Wars, but this is lost to history and those involved.

The first offspring were ostracized by those of both races and had to learn to live with this behavior in others. As more came to be, and others became used to them, racism gradually lessened.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Squaran can change their skin color/texture to any variation found on the ocean floor [only use simple color patterns]. In the water they gain a +2 racial bonus to all Stealth skill checks with a +2 bonus per 4 levels, this ability doesn't work in a dry environment.

Males are dark blue and females have lighter coloring.
