Breezefolk: Bayou Halflings

Written by Pookas Kreations

They call themselves the Breezefolk, they live in the Blackmire Swamps. Preferably on platforms in the trees, either on stilts or around the trees, some even build floating houses on the surface. They have a small community of 200 people spread over a wide area, the core village is only a few families, but they are a tight-knit society. Passionate about their home-cooked creations, their houses look rustic and rundown but they are very sturdy. Bridges, scaffolding, ladders, and walkways connect their houses together. These houses are colorfully adorned with lanterns and carvings to showcase their artistry.   The Breezefolk are friendly, exceptional cooks and craftsmen. Live harmoniously with nature and other swamp inhabitants that they call the Marsh Whiskers, also known as the Bayou Capybara. The Breezefolk share a symbiotic relationship with them. They share the responsibility of up-keeping the swamp to keep it healthy   Oddly, some of them specialize in Magitech Technology creations that look like knickknacks or toys, not like a magic item. A few times a year they have floating markets where they showcase their food and crafts to visiting merchants.   The Eldertwig Council leads the community, a group of wise and experienced elders it is part democracy and part consensus. Everyone is heard before the council to help them make decisions. They make decisions about community and up-keeping the balance of nature in the swamp.
