Avalon

Written by Pookas Kreations

This is the home planet of the Aetherian--Star Elves. It is the 3rd planet of the Avori system. It is slightly larger than Earth, 20%. There are 2 moons and 3 comets--that pass through the system every 11, 20, and 102 years. They have extensive interplanetary travel, various space stations, mining operations, and travel to all the nearest systems.   Avalon is a deep bluish-white B star and its partner is a yellowish-white F star in this binary star system. There are six planets left in the Avori system, and two of them have ring systems Avalon is one. The 3rd, 4th, and 6th planets and their moons have a breathable atmosphere with helium, nitrogen, oxygen mixture, and a rocky mantle. The 6th planet is on the edge of the habitable zone, it is too cold for most races.   There are four seasons, every six months, 60% water. The planet rotates clockwise and orbits retrograde. Jupar, the 4th planet is the closest to Avalon, it is a small gas giant that fills the sky as if Avalon were a distant moon (Jupiter-like in size, composition, and details).   The planet was destroyed by the 4th comet that used to travel through the system. Two pieces of the planet still have an atmosphere and one was hollowed out for a mine processing center. The rest are lifeless hulks. There is an asteroid field where the 5th planet used to be, between the 4th and 6th planets. The asteroids aren't a hazard because they have been mapped and are being tracked constantly because of the mining operations for their resources.   Continents   Avalon has one large, and 3 small continents. [None will figure prominently in my work. The planet is only background information.] Regulus is the largest continent. 200 miles to the west is Stenos,400 miles to the south is Ellef and 600 miles to the East is Gregon. All the continents are easy to reach by boat but are easier by air.   Gregon is where the Aetherians first evolved, the capital city is here, as well as the spaceport. The capital city is called Avala. There are no dangerous large carnivores here, but there are many exotic plants. It straddles the equator 40% is above the equator. There are also 4 major and 3 minor islands scattered off the coast around the continent.   A volcanic chain curves northeast from the northeasternmost tip of Gregon. The southwesternmost tip has a lonely volcano. Starting from the lone volcano the continent is trisected by mountain ranges, mesas, and steppes. Only near the lonely volcano are the tallest mountains.   To the SW there is a large river delta, a large bay to the west, in the center. Gregor is bisected diagonally from NE to SW with a large river to feed the delta. Various smaller rivers travel randomly across the continent sourcing from the mountains to the ocean. The most widely used river is the Seine. Amasu runs from the Kenar mountains to the NW coast, Albar from the Altair mountains to the SW coast, and the Mombin flows from the Warren mountains to the SE coast. The longest lake is where the mountain ranges conjoin. When they were formed by the uplift broke open an aquifer, and freed it. It is named Daltham Lake.   Every terrain type exists on Gregon, except the Arctic, where there is only a small desert and badlands. Mostly the continent is covered in temperate grasslands, steppes, and forests.   Moons   Olo is the 1st, largest moon and is the only habitable moon of Avalon. Silva is the second moon, it is icy and has no breathable atmosphere unless you can breathe a combination of liquid methane and oxygen. The tides are slightly less than on other planets of the same size because both moons are smaller than usual, less dense, and the icy one is further away. A complete lunar conjunction happens every 200 years. The only effect that the planet Avalon has on Olo is that he is stuck in her orbit and her tides, a penumbral Eclipse happens twice a year, a total lunar eclipse once a year, and a partial lunar eclipse three times a year. [Penumbral--lasts for 1/2 an hour, almost 3/4; total--lasts for 1 hour, complete; partial--14-1/2, 1/4 moon. Moon moths mate during a total eclipse.

Shame this isn't planned for move development. Thanks for sharing!
