Gutrot

The Many Limbed Demon, the Infinite Maw, the Ravenous, the Sultan of Disgust, The Lord of Starvation

Gutrot, also known as the Many Limbed Demon, the Infinite Maw, the Ravenous, the Sultan of Disgust and the Lord of Starvation, is the Travesty representing gluttony, starvation, and famine. His domain is relatively recent, having formed during The Godrot Incident as a result of a strange being known as Gutman beinge exposed to The Great Old One Namirus's raw power.   He is often overlooked by the other Travesties, earning particular ire from Cthothlast, and is not widely worshipped, apart from in the most depraved circles.   When compared to beings that embody the concept of destruction, life itself or even pain and fear, Gutrot may, on paper, seem markedly less impressive. However, those unlucky mortals who find themselves in the Infinite Maw’s presence will attest that the heaving mass of bulbous green flesh, endless cavalcade of arms and putrid stench is, in fact, rather awe-inspiring. That is, for the few seconds before their mortal forms were reduced to husks through the sheer toxicity of his aura. On Apa Axas, his name is spoken amongst the Elven communities as the most severe insult, and even speaking his name may grant ire, hostility and even arrests in certain regions; to circumvent this, many refer to him by his titles, such as the Many Limbed Demon, the Infinite Maw, the Ravenous, the Sultan of Disgust and the Lord of Starvation.

Divine Domains

While Gutrot's main domains are gluttony, starvation and famine, he is also considered to oversee Acid, Pestilence, Fungi, Jealousy, Forgery, Ooze and Worms.

Artifacts

Gutrot does not create unique artifacts, for he lacks the ability to do so. Instead, he corrupts artifacts of other Beacons and Travesties for his own usage. It is unknown why he does this, but popular theories include envy of other deities' power, or admiration. An example of this are his Yellow Grapes, a parody of The Vida Quda's Copper Fruit, that, instead of bringing life, bring intense rotting while the victim is still alive.

Personal history

The origins of Gutrot lay with the Godrot plague of Kthombru, orchestrated by the Great Old One Namirus. Namirus attempted to reform into Apa Axas as a sentiment disease known as Godrot, and nearly succeeded in overthrowing Kthombru with the help of his God's Vomit cult. Although they succeeded in decimating the area, the attempt was thwarted by a group of adventurers, who used a strange creature known as the Gutman to devour the body as it walked Apa Axas in a vulnerable form. This consumption, combined with the Godrot, fused the three beings together, forming a new Travesty. This new being, dubbing itself Gutrot, became a constantly feasting and swelling Orc-like mass of blubber, and fled to a realm outside of space and time known as The Fester. Here, Gutrot planted itself, and created an army of servers to constantly feed the bulk.   Gutrot may be somewhat of a laughing stock amongst his fellow Travesties, but he still has had a tremendous impact on the world of Apa Axas, being responsible for the creation of the Hill Giant alongside Zemer Epsh, the most common and mass destructive of Giant kind. In addition, due to his complex origin, he still possesses the attributes of Namirus, the Great Old One of Rot. If he could only tap into that power, Gutrot would become the single most dangerous being in existence, putting all other Beacons and Travesties to shame. Luckily for the multiverse, Gutrot seems content to stew amongst his sentient oozes and seethe in his jealousy, either blissfully unaware or too outright lazy to harness the infinite power that lies within him.

Contacts & Relations

Gutrot is said to be a pathetic and envious creature, and is the least liked by the other Travesties out of all of them, baring no allies. He is said to be jealous of the more well regarded deities, and will make obscene parodies of the other gods, although these copies usually reveal the sadness behind their intent, such as his Yellow Grapes, parodies of The Vida Quda's Copper Fruit that bring death to all those who eat it and is said to be formed from the eyes of an Aasimar, and his Infinite Maw Sorcerers, made in mockery of the Monk traditions of Apa Axas. His ultimate goal is said to be to consume Apa Axas, which in itself is a rehash of Retch’s consumption of The Putric Isles. Cthothlast in particularly is said to despise the creature, stating in his long debate with the famous Gnomish Travestologist, Bok Tippytap, that “Gutrot is a fetid being, more concerned for his image that achieving any form of greatness. I doubt he has ever had an original thought in his entire existence, and all he can ever do is create pointless facsimiles of his superiors’ masterpieces. That and he smells like excrement. I don’t often have him round.”
