The Decrepit Mythgenerator

About ten miles outside of Direhelm are the remnants of a mythgenerator destroyed by the Severing . In its time, the Direhelm Mythgenerator was both a marvel of engineering and a point of local pride; since its construction in 709 YC, it stood strong in its place as one of the largest, newest, and most productive of the Federation's mythgenerators. The energy it generated powered the wave of Cethandiran expansion circa 710 YC, as urban industry began to sprawl from Cethandir itself out to its surrounding lands-- including, of course, to Direhelm. In particular, the Direhelm Mythgenerator was instrumental to the construction of the branch of aerorail that extended south from Cethandir past Direhelm.
When the Severing swept through Aotra, mythallars and mythgenerators everywhere failed, and the Direhelm Mythgenerator was no exception. The mythallar at its core shattered, and the rest of the facility rapidly ground to a halt. Its crew abandoned the facility soon after its destruction; in the desert heat, without the power to sustain the mythgenerator complex's climate control, to remain in the facility too long would spell doom. Navigating by walking along the aerorail tracks that passed by it and Direhelm, all nine members of the mythgenerator's crew survived the ten-mile trek back to Direhelm through the desert.
Now, three years after its destruction, the mythgenerator has been reclaimed by the desert. The area's stark white sand and harsh winds have weathered the exterior of the mythgenerator complex, wearing thin what wasn't already lost when the mythallar shattered. A recent team of Direhelmer scouts passed by the mythgenerator complex and, upon their return, reported that it appears that a small oasis had begun to grow up around the complex.
