Eclipse International

Once, Eclipse International (EI) was arguably the most powerful business enterprise in Aotra. But in the long shadow of the Severing, it reels from a level of devastation felt by few others. Eclipse International was, prior to the Severing, the world's premier producer of mythallars and mythgenerators; EI not only constructed mythallars and mythgenerators, but mages employed by EI operated and maintained them as well. When the Severing obliterated Aotra's mythallars, it annihilated Eclipse International.
Before its fall, Eclipse was an unparalleled power player within the global economy. For much of its three hundred years, EI benefitted from a contract with the Circle of Nine which essentially granted it a monopoly over mythallar production. Eclipse amassed a treasure trove of wealth and connections through its global commerce; by producing the power source necessary for so much arcane technology, it made itself invaluable—that is, until its products were rendered permanently inoperable.
Founded in 419 YC in the Federation of Vay, and still headquartered in Vay Proper, Eclipse International is a corporation always held close by its owners regardless of its global reach. EI began with the brothers Anatoli and Vasili Djernina. Catapulted rather quickly to enormous wealth, the original Djernina brothers built up a life for themselves and their descendants as a sort of new aristocracy, a role which, over the generations to come, became more and more of a true aristocracy. The Djernina family still control Eclipse International, and most branches of the family remain in the Federation. Cyrillus Djernina is the current head of Eclipse International. His sister, Anastasia Djernina, plays a significant role within the corporation, but is primarily occupied by her state role as Vayan Consul and Head of the Department of Energy.
What is to come of Eclipse International in the aftermath of the Severing remains to be seen.
