Calendar of Aotra

Aotra uses a calendar system based on its solar seasons. An Aotran year is equivalent to 200 days, and so the calendar is split up into four months of fifty days each, organized into five-day-long weeks.
The four months are called Sunsummer, Dusking, Nightwinter, and Dawning, in that order. Sunsummer is the month in which Aotra completes the section of its orbit where it is positioned between Redstar and Bluestar; it is the planet's warmest season, and also the time in which Aotra experiences no night. Conversely, Nightwinter is the opposite side of Aotra's orbit, where it is farthest from Bluestar and thus experiences cooler temperatures and true nights. Dusking and Dawning are the months in which Aotra distances from and then approaches Bluestar, respectively.
Aotrans refer to their weekdays with simple numerical labels most of the time, like "the 21st of Dusking", "the 6th of Sunsummer", or "next 48th". However, when names for weekdays are called for, Aotra's weekdays are labelled as Firstday, Secondday, Thirdday, Fourthday, and Fifthday. Each week, the Fifthday is a day of rest.
Years are labelled in relation to the establishment of the Circle of Nine, the revolutionary peace treaty that forged a final, strong alliance between the nations of Aotra. Years before that time are counted backwards as Years of War (abbreviated YW), to make up for the lack of a united chronological system before the establishment of the Circle of Nine. Years since that time are denoted as Years in the Circle, abbreviated as YC.
The current year is 717 YC.
