Espenaros
Smaller than Riocruce, Espenaros (meaning "The Great Mill" in Aracian) is still a dynamic, exciting city. It is both the industrial and cultural powerhouse of Aracia.
Espenaros is home to the dozens of mills that forge the iron from the mines of Reladuen and Nansuelo (via the Whiteiron Road) into the renowned Aracian Steel that has made the nation famous. More than a quarter of the population of Espenaros works in these mills. The city is built along a wide stretch of the Maktiga that allows for constant traffic to Riocruce - shipping out the valuable goods across the Merchant Sea.
It is surrounded by thick stone walls that were built in ages past when relations with Torcest were less friendly. Its most prominent landmarks are the three massive spiral towers made of purple crystal that stretch far above the rest of its skyline. These towers suggest that the city is built on the grave of the same ancient civilization that much of Torcest was built on as well. Its proximity to the dwarven nation means there is a higher population of dwarves in Espenaros than anywhere else in Aracia. The rest of the city is made of the same elaborate red clay construction found in Riocruce.
An unique feature of Espenaros is the pipes built into almost every building and that cross over nearly every road. When the wind blows threw the pipes, they emit a soft, soothing melody that rings throughout the city.
Espenaros is also known for the Aracian Museum, a sprawling complex that charts the history of Aracia and the Salemanco dynasty from the moment they charted north to escape Veldian orthodoxy to Rodrigo’s abdication of the throne. It also houses numerous works of art that are cultural touchstones. These include:

- A painting of Isaura Salemanco leading her family on horseback across the Tribada Steppe, the sun hung high in the sky.
- A statue of a soldier with an Aracian Steel blade striking down a wizard from Arcenveld.
- A replica of the Peace Treaty signed between Arcenveld and Aracia, giving them their independence.
- An abstract sculpture, made of steel, of a dragon wrapping itself around a bison to protect it.
- A painting called “Sacrifice” of Bartolome Salemanco riding into battle, his spear pointed at the Demon Lord Molveth.
- Bartolome’s Spear.
- Rodrigo’s Crown that he gave up on the eve of his coronation.
- The document Rodrigo signed creating the first Parliament.
