He was raised by ghosts and after killing his parents, saved his younger sister and created the demon race from other abandoned children.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Demons of Aonaran possess a unique and distinct anatomy, shaped by their origins and fiery nature. At first glance, they share similarities with humans but exhibit notable differences.
Demons have a singular head crowned with two glowing, fiery eyes that radiate an eerie light. Instead of traditional ears, they have pointed, horn-like protrusions that serve as sensory organs. Their nose is often more streamlined and sharper than that of humans, facilitating their keen sense of smell. A sinister, elongated mouth is lined with razor-sharp teeth, designed for both feeding and defensive purposes.
Their neck is sinuous and elongated, lending an almost serpentine quality. From each shoulder sprouts a pair of powerful, muscular wings, resembling those of a bat or dragon. These wings allow for agile and swift flight, making demons highly mobile in their aerial pursuits. Their upper limbs, like humans, consist of two arms ending in clawed hands, each possessing five sharp fingers. The arms are notably muscular and flexible, granting them dexterity in spellcasting and combat. Demon skin is often dark and tough around the lower arms and hands, able to withstand extreme temperatures, and occasionally bears intricate, glowing patterns that vary among individuals.
The demon's torso connects seamlessly to their shoulders, appearing more slender and streamlined than a human's. Below the torso, they possess two long, powerful legs, lending them agility and grace in their movements. Their lower limbs terminate in clawed, plantigrade feet, each bearing four clawed toes assist in maintaining balance during flight and ground traversal.
Demons boast a complex musculature and skeletal system, optimized for both terrestrial and aerial activities. In terms of internal organs, demons share several key features with humans, such as a singular brain, heart, and two lungs, which are essential for cognitive functions, circulation, and respiration.
However, due to their fiery nature, demons possess unique adaptations. They have a specialised organ known as the "Infernal Core," which functions as their magical reservoir, akin to the Arcane Reservoir in humans. This Infernal Core stores and regulates intense, fiery magical energy. Extending from the Infernal Core is a series of "Infernal Conduits," which act as veins for channelling this potent magical energy throughout their bodies.
Additionally, demons have dual, fiery "Gastral Flames" within their chests, which serve as their primary source of sustenance and energy. These flames allow them to consume and metabolize various forms of energy, including magical energy and heat, and convert them into nourishment. Demons lack traditional digestive organs like the stomach or intestines, relying solely on their Gastral Flames for sustenance.
Finally, the reproductive organs have adapted as well to produce viable demon offspring. Not completely different to a female human, female demons possess a womb and two ovaries. The "Ember Ovaries" supply the necessary genetic material in the form of an "Ember Egg", while the "Ember Womb" can withstand the intense magical energy of both the mother and the father needed to grow the demonic fetus. Male demons possess two "Ember Balls" that produce and store the "Ember Seeds", the complementary genetic material to the Ember Egg to produce a demonic zygote.

Genetics and Reproduction

The reproductive and genetic characteristics of demons on Aonaran are unique to their species and play a vital role in their fiery existence.

Reproduction Method:
Demons reproduce sexually, with the fusion of male and female demonic essences resulting in the creation of offspring. This process involves two demon parents contributing their inherent magical energies and essences to give rise to a new individual.

Reproductive Frequency:
The reproductive frequency of demons is highly variable, as it occurs whenever they desire. This flexibility is a result of their unique method of reproduction, where the fusion of male and female demonic essences leads to the birth of usually one offspring per 'Ember Incubation.' Demons prioritize their offspring and typically refrain from activities that could lead to another incubation during the raising of their demon child.

Gestation Method:
Demons possess a distinct gestation method suited to their fiery nature. Instead of traditional pregnancy, female demons undergo a process known as "Ember Incubation." During Ember Incubation, the mother retains a magical ember within her, which gradually absorbs her essence and develops into a new demon offspring. This incubation period lasts for approximately 9 to 10 months, during which the ember draws nourishment from the mother's magical essence.

Genetics:
Demons inherit their unique traits and abilities from their demonic lineage. These traits encompass not only physical characteristics but also their innate affinity for fire and magic. While genetic diversity among demons is influenced by their specific lineage and ancestral connections, their shared fiery nature unites them as a species.

Parental Care:
Following the birth of a new demon, parental care takes on a different form. Both demon parents are responsible for nurturing and guiding their offspring's development in the ways of fire manipulation and magical mastery. This essential mentoring helps young demons harness their innate powers and adapt to their fiery surroundings.

Growth Rate & Stages

The growth rate and stages of a developing demon on Aonaran follow a unique and extended pattern, given their long lifespans and fiery nature:

Conception:
The initial stage begins with the fusion of male and female demonic essences, creating a magical ember that holds the potential for a new demon's existence.

Ember Incubation:
The ember, infused with the essences of both demon parents, enters a state of Ember Incubation within the mother's womb. This process lasts for approximately 9 to 10 months, during which the ember absorbs the mother's magical essence and matures.

Birth:
Upon completion of Ember Incubation, the mother gives birth to the new demon. The ember, now fully developed, transforms into the physical form of the young demon.

Fiery Infancy:
In their earliest years, demon infants are referred to as "Emberlings." They exhibit innate fire manipulation abilities, although at a basic level. Emberlings depend on their parents for guidance and mastery of their fiery powers.

Elementary Demonhood:
During this stage, young demons continue to refine their fire manipulation skills. They learn to control and shape flames, adapting to their fiery surroundings. This stage spans several centuries, equivalent to human childhood and adolescence.

Fiery Adolescence:
As demons reach maturity, their mastery of fire and magic becomes more advanced. They develop their unique magical abilities and find their place within demon society.

Eternal Adulthood:
Demon adulthood extends for millennia, encompassing multiple phases. Demons become deeply connected to their elemental nature and magical prowess. They may choose to specialise in specific forms of fire manipulation or magical disciplines.

Ancient Demonhood:
After thousands of years of life, demons enter the stage of ancient demonhood. They have honed their powers to a peak, achieving a profound understanding of fire and magic.

Immortal Existence:
Demons possess the potential for an immortal existence, with lifespans spanning tens of thousands of years. They continue to evolve and refine their abilities, contributing to the collective knowledge of demonkind.

Endless Age:
For demons, the concept of old age does not follow a linear path. Instead, they experience an endless age, marked by their continual growth and exploration of their fiery potential.

Immortal Legacy:
Demons do not face natural death; however, their remains may become corrupted into mindless ghouls if destroyed by humans. Despite this, they remain an enduring presence on Aonaran, preserving their legacy throughout the ages.

These internal flames not only sustain their energy but also enhance their magical abilities. Demons consume a combination of spectral and demonic foods, each tailored to the unique characteristics of the seasons, ensuring their survival and thriving in the supernatural realm of Morana.

Shade Season
During the Shade Season, demons rely on a combination of spectral and demonic flora for sustenance. Their first Gastral Flame, known as the "Soul Ember," absorbs the ambient magical energy from the Shade Rain. This energy fuels their magical abilities, reducing their reliance on physical nourishment. However, demons do consume ethereal fruits and spectral plants that flourish during this season. These foods help replenish the Soul Ember and provide essential nutrients. Their diet consists of spectral berries and fruits, such as Wraithberries and Phantasmal Figs, which are rich in spectral essence and enhance their magical prowess.

Dusk Season
As demons become more active during the Dusk Season, their dietary habits shift to match their increased physical activity. The second Gastral Flame, referred to as the "Infernal Furnace," plays a vital role during this season. Demons consume enchanted meat, primarily harvested from demonic creatures and animals created from the region's unique magical flora. The Infernal Furnace absorbs the energy from the consumed meat, providing the necessary fuel for their heightened physical and magical activity. Infernal Furnace also ensures that demons remain warm in the growing cold of Dusk Season. Some of the demonic creatures they consume include Shadowbound Beasts and Abyssal Bovines.

Eclipse Season
The Eclipse Season presents a challenge to demons' dietary needs due to the numbing cold of the Eclipse Zephyr. During this season, demons seek nourishment from both their Gastral Flames and enchanted flora, which possess resilience to the cold. The Infernal Furnace becomes more crucial as it helps maintain their internal body temperature. Demons consume hearty spectral soups and stews made from ingredients such as Iceheart Tubers and Frostbloom Roots. These foods not only sustain them but also contribute to the preservation of their internal magical essence.

Twilight Season
In the Twilight Season, the demons' diet revolves around the harvest of supernatural crops and spectral herbs. They collect ethereal grains, such as Echowheat, and spectral herbs like Luminaris Leaves. These foods are essential for replenishing both Gastral Flames. The energy absorbed by the Soul Ember and Infernal Furnace from these foods enhances the demons' magical and physical capabilities. The Twilight Season marks a period of feasting and rituals, where demons share communal meals and honour their spectral ancestors.

Fullmoon Season
During the Fullmoon Season, demons celebrate unity with the ghosts, emphasizing the interconnectedness of their existence. The demons and ghosts engage in a shared feast, consuming spectral delicacies that have been infused with the energy of the ethereal moon. Dishes like Moonlit Morsels and Luminescent Nectar are enjoyed by both species. The energy absorbed during this communal feast strengthens their Gastral Flames, fostering a sense of harmony and balance.
