Strange Aeons / In Search of Sanity pt. 15 / Eire the 7th, 3592 CE / 11-26-19

General Summary

The party prepares to set out after another night of peaceful repose in the sanctuary. However, Rorgrim has developed the same tumorous affliction that plagued Hemlock. Also, Rorgrim and Yew have both recalled strange dreams they suffered through while unconscious the previous day in the library under the effects of Esp's psychic sleep. Rorgrim recalls he was once more wandering the alleyways of Carcosa, when suddenly a wall collapsed, revealing a small hidden chamber within which sat a wizened old crone. Just before awaking, the crone directed her gaze to Rorgrim and said "Your past was the sacrifice." Yew's dream likewise took place in the dream city, as he once again fled from some unseen horror. However, this time that horror was not just the so-called "Tatterman." As he rounded a corner, the ganzi sorcerer was confronted with the ghastly creature, who seemed oddly surprised to see Yew there, and began reaching a clawed hand towards the ganzi's face just as he was being awakened. Despite recalling these horrors from the previous day, all agree that last night's slumber was peaceful, as they were transported back to the dream representations of their fondest homes. The party sets out once again into the depths of the asylum, this time joined by Kingfisher, who appears to have fully recovered from the bout of illness he had received from the bite of the ghoulish Norman Gage. Kingfisher has joined them primarily to access the now-secured library in order to investigate it for clues. Yew also decides to remain in the library for the time-being, reveling in his new kingdom. The rest of the party proceeds to the hallway beyond Director Lozando's office, where they find several potential exits. The first door they open is for a storage room, where they find two of Zander Ulverus's apostles, one of whom is rummaging through patients' stored belongings, and one who appears to leading a lesson with an assembled group of dolls. Both apostles attack upon seeing the newcomers enter, but are put down by Esp's psychic sleep. Haskell uses his manacles to secure the pair as Esp attempts to enter the mind of one of the apostles, scaring him with visions of Esp as a dream assailant like the Tatterman, in order to gain the apostle's cooperation. Upon waking, the apostle identifies himself as "Tick,' but when pressed for information, can only tell the party that Zander Ulverus is in his "den." Strangely, the other apostle does not wake. Leaving their prisoners secured, the party makes their way back to the sanctuary to report this new development.
