Koschei the Deathless

Koschei the Deathless is an immortal wizard and a servant of The Fallen. In the Age of Darkness he was the court wizard of the Emperors of Atamor.

Early Life

Koschei was born in the Age of Susanne as a son of a city's magistrate and exhibited magical abilities from a very young age. His father sent him for magical education at the age of 15. At the age of 25 Koschei had a dream in which The Fallen spoke to him. Koschei was promised great power if he followed The Fallen. He accepted.

Banishment of Lady Susanne

Koschei gathered an army and stormed Lady Susanne's castle. He faced her in the great hall of the castle. During the duel Koschei was directly aided by The Fallen. When he managed to fatally injure Lady Susanne, she gave up and teleported back to the Forge of Worlds.

The Court Wizard

Koschei was the court wizard of the Emperors of Atamor through the whole Age of Darkness. As the court wizard he also was at the top of the hierarchy of priests of The Fallen.

In the Age of Church

After Irenaeus' rebellion Koschei escaped to the north where The Fallen is said to reside while waiting for the right moment to return. Recently, the Snow Riders report that Koschei is gathering The Fallen's forces in the Frozen Mountains.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Despite the advanced age Koschei is still in a perfect physical condition. The cause of that is unknown. Most people say that it is dark magic.

Special abilities

Koschei is a powerful wizard skilled in all kinds of magic. He is most known for his necromancy. It is said that Koschei is able to raise an entire army from a graveyard or battlefield. Steppe Riders have stories about him coming to the Villages of the Dead and rising dead warriors, chiefs and shamans. It is said that he is the reason why Susannites burn their dead.

Immortality

Koschei's immortality is a gift from The Fallen. It was achieved by extracting Koschei's soul and placing it in a needle which was put into an egg, which was put into a duck, which was put on a remote island. When anybody tries to catch the duck it runs away.
