Bane cares only for War. Though similar domains such as trickery, or death may be tangentially related to him, Bane and his followers true goal is conquest though superior martial strength.
Believing in victory at any cost, Bane will consider any action to ensure success for those loyal to him. His one constant is ensuring the power balance always tips in his favor. For a champion willing to bear the mark of Bane, and dedicate the spoils of their war to him, their boons shall be plentiful; but should a warlord fail to bend their knee or seek to eschew their master/subjugate relationship, Bane is quick to mete out punishment in a most devastating manner.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Since his exile from The Nine Hells few have seen Bane. He is known to appear to his champions and holds regular meetings with his war council. His appearance is that of a muscle bound barbarian warlord. His height ranges from 15 to 50 feet depending on where he is seen. His body is covered in a dark, leathery hide and his eyes glow with burning malice. For one who has fought for so long he carries no scars, his god-like power regenerating all rendered flesh. The exception being a hand print burned into his chest by Asmodeus , a permanent reminder of his own subjugation by one stronger than him. This mark has now adopted by Bane and his followers. It's meaning clear on any who impose it: "I own you".

Personal history
Bane is a being defined by conflict. Unlike the thoughtless destructive power of Gruumsh , who wishes only to destroy, or the honor bound Kord who believes strength is a virtue to be respected and revered, Bane wishes only to conquer. Strength is necessary and destruction is often a byproduct but more than anything else, Bane wishes to see his enemies driven before him, to take what others have wrought and to tear down any who would oppose him until he has dominion over all the planes.
Bane initially tried to make good on his goal by overthrowing Asmodeus , and plunging The Nine Hells into a demonic psuedo-civil war. Ultimately he lost, and for his arrogance he was banished, forced to carve out a new existence on the planes of Gehenna , where he now resides; no doubt plotting his revenge and recouping his strength.
