Peairo's Gateway

Peairo's Gateway, or Peairo's for short, is an area where prominent members of Javeian society are being ofscended. It's is the widest and best known place of ofscension. It is named after Peairo, the protagonist in the Sacrifice of Peairo myth. The location consists of both an indoor and an outdoor area.

Purpose / Function

Indoor area
The building is used for indoor ofscension rituals, performed whenever the environmental circumstances such as the weather are suboptimal. It also houses the Ofscension Archives, a national archive that contains records of all Javeii of the Ancient Ways that have been offically registered as ofscended. There is also the Ofscension Information Office, which provides visitors with answers to all questions they may have regarding the ritual and process of ofscension. This will allow them to prepare for their own ofscension and should take away their fears and uncertainties regarding the subject.

Outdoor area
This is a mainly open area with some hills and a a patch of forest on the side opposite to the building. Placed in front of the building is a memorial listing all prominent members of the Javeii that have ofscended in this location, of which the intended purpose is for visitors to come and pay their respects and tributes and remember those who have ofscended. The open area is intended for both ofscension rituals as well as recreational activities such as casual meetups, parties, sports competitions and other social gatherings. This is also the place where powerful multi-weaver Fabric spells are woven with the Fabric being very present and powerful in this area due to the ofscensions that have taken place. The forest area may also be used for recreational purposes, especially hiking, as long as visitors don't wander off the existing paths. Outside the paths the groundkeepers maintain a population of Scrullywops, which are kept for their organic resources (their brain develop based on the amount of interaction with other creatures, and this spot is a great place to have them observe visitors of Peairo's).

Architecture

The building located at Peairo's is decorated with large ornaments made of purpaurantius depicting Peairo's path of life from birth to ofscension. The material has a symbolic significance because it symbolizes the passing of time, which is an inseperable aspect of getting to the point of ofscension. It is the biggest use of pupaurantius on any public building in the Theocracy of the Ancient Ways.

Tourism

While Peairo's Gateway is accessible to everyone it is mainly visited by members of the Javeii of the Ancient Ways, which places special importance and value on a place of ofscension. First-time visitors often go to visit the memorial first to pay their respects to those that have ofscended. Some may hope to communicate with the ofscended while others may hope to receive divine favors. They may go to the Ofscension Archives to view records on relatives and gain insight in the history of their families, have a picnic on the field outside or take a hike through the forest area.
