'Broken Well'

Purpose / Function

'The Broken Well' was one of several structures built over 'Magic Well' with the intention of storing magic into 'A.O. Arcane Crystals'. These crystals would then be used to power special devices, vehicles and rituals. Near the beginning of the 'Ancient Ones' civilization, part of the structure critically failed, causing pure magic to flood the surrounding area, and making it dangerous.
In recent times the structure has been reclaimed by the 'Descendents' to use as a base and a place to rediscover 'A.O.' spells and rituals.

History

Toward the begining of their long reign, one of these structures became damaged and broke at a critical point. This caused the entire structure to fail, and instead of the pure magic being funneled directly into the crystals, it was released into the surrounding area. This caused the landscape and lifeforms to warp into new shapes and merge unrelated creatures together.
The 'A.O.'s' were forced to abandon the structure and area due to how dangerous it had become. However this event would inspire them to to create Chimeras of their own.
When the magic levels crashed the area settled down, with little to no magic coming through the 'magic well'. However now that the magic levels are rising once more, the land has begun warping again, and new creatures are emerging from the area, transformed by the pure magic.
Despite this the 'Descendants' have claimed the structure as their own, and are using it to practice illegal magic.

Tourism

Due to the unpredictability of the surrounding lands and creatures, very few people will willing seek out the damaged structure. One of the few groups to do so however, has been the 'Descendants'. They've recently claimed the structure as their own and use it as safe place from those who oppose them.
