'A.O' Ruins A

Purpose / Function

Originally this location was a highly important outpost for the 'Ancient Ones'. It was the critical link between the 'A.O.'s Homeland' and the rest of Tamerea, all goods between the continents passed through this outpost. Because of this the outpost did not have any farms, relying completely on trade for their food supply, so when the world's magic levels crashed the survivors struggled to survive, and the outpost was eventually abandoned.   For centuries the ruins laid dormant, until adventurers rediscovered them. The ruins would then become an important archeological site for studying the 'A.O.'s'. Extreme care was taken to preserve the site, but this all changed when the the 'Descendents' took over the site. Once they gained control over the site they were quick to convert many of the buildings into barracks, warehouses, and to begin farming the surrounding lands to make sure they didn't suffer the same fate as the 'A.O.'s'. Several of the buildings became labs for the 'Descendants' so they could try to rediscover and reclaim 'A.O.' spells and inventions. One of the main plazas was converted into a large magic circle, with the intention of being able to create their own species of Chimeras.

Architecture

Despite it's old age, the ruins are in relatively good condition. While the color has faded, weeds have sprung up in cracks, and generations of spiders have made their homes here, the buildings are still structurally sound.

History

Long ago, these ruins were once a major 'A.O.' trading post on Andraous. This all changed when the world's magic levels crashed, and unable to import food, many of the inhabitants either perished or abandoned the settlement.   It would be many eras before the ruins were rediscovered by Kinfolk, and when it did it became an important source of knowledge on the 'A.O.'s'. These ruins were protected for centuries but came under threat when the 'Descendants' were formed, and made it one of their goals to reclaim the structure as their own. It took them awhile, but eventually they succeeded, and converted the ruins into another base.
