Academy Wardens
In the Age of Infernals, Ioth Academy needs protectors. This is the charge of the Wardens, magical warriors who patrol and defend the students, faculty and territory of the Greatest Institute of Magical Learning in the Four Kingdoms.
Each warden is equipped with gray half-plate armor, a shield, a flail, a black tabard depicting the Tower of War (their insignia), and magic items that help them support each other and alert their fellow patrols. Watches have four Wardens so if they split up, no single Warden ends up alone.
The Wardens are based out of the Causeway, the magically floating structure that opens access between the Academy and the Outside World. The mobile nature of the Causeway allows the Wardens to rapidly deploy in the event they are needed. Most of the time, they patrol the edges of the sphere and stand guard over trouble areas.
Chief Warden Ica Elnao has authority over the Wardens.
Structure
One Chief Warden oversees the Wardens as a whole. They delegate to High Wardens, who each control a different Arm, and each Arm has multiple Watches. The Arms are differentiated by the crenellations on their Tower of War tabards.
Culture
Wardens see themselves as guardians of the educational process. Ioth Academy is a sanctuary away from the world's problems, and to ensure that the next generation of magic wielders gains every possible advantage, it falls to the Wardens to protect them. Because of this, Wardens tend not only to be concerned with safety, but with academic success, and will often chide or lecture students over behaviors that aren't explicitly dangerous. Wardens can enforce any rule that a Caretaker can enforce.
