Elf

The Elves, known to themselves as Tel'Fae are the oldest race in all of Amare. They are the successors to the Ancient Arch-Fey race. The Tel'Fae have a long and bloodied history in Amare.

Description

Appearance

Elves stand on average 5′4″‒6′0" and weighed 130‒170 lb. True elves are a naturally slender and athletic race. Elves have a similar range of complexions to humans, with wood elves typically coppery or pale skinned and wild elves having darker pigmentation. Often, elven hair is dark, either brown or black, with copper red or blond hair also found amongst wood elves, although orange or even green hues are not completely unheard of. Elven eyes are commonly brown, hazel, or an emerald green. Elves, are fair and beautiful, handsome, and have pointed ears and no body hair except eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair.

Biology

Elves mature at roughly the same rate as humans, though they are not usually considered past adolescence until they've reached 50 years of age. Unlike humans, elves do not age dramatically as their lifespan come to a close, with the most obvious changes being a change in hair color, alternatively graying or darkening. Most elves remained healthy and full of life up until their death, which, if age-related, was usually between four to five centuries. Though elves are long lived, only adolescents are fertile. Most female elves loose their fertility after the age of 150. Because of this elves reproduce at a much slower rate than humans.

Abilities

Elves have a number of abilities that set them apart from other humanoid races. Like their predecessors, elves are agile, dexterous creatures. Elves are also more preternaturally aware of their surroundings than other humanoid races. This aided elves in many ways, allowing elves a high degree of perceptiveness that they can lend partially to allies. Additionally, elves are extremely accurate in their attacks, having a degree of precision that would be unusual for other humanoids.   Many elves do not sleep, instead finding their rest in a meditative state called "reverie", which is as restful as true sleep but leaves them aware of their surroundings, similar to a Thas Kesha's ability to enter a trance

Personalities

Elves commonly possess strong but swiftly passing passions, being moved easily to laughter, anger, or misery and as quickly calmed. They are known for their impulsive behavior and, as a result, many races saw them as flighty or impetuous. However, elves are not as flaky as others might interpret them to be, and they were typically responsible despite their almost whimsical nature. Partially due to their long lifespan (though not entirely, since many long-lived races acted differently), elves have difficulty taking some matters as seriously as other races, but when threats they recognize do arise, elves are strong friends and allies to those they are loyal to.   Elves tended to make strong and uplifting friends. Most elves love simple joys such as dancing, singing, footraces, or contests of skill. They have a natural aversion to that which they see as uninteresting tasks and are fun-loving by nature. However, despite how unpleasant some things such as war can be, elves become grimly serious if a threat to their friends, family, or livelihood makes such actions necessary.

History

Origins

Tel'Fae came to life 100,000 Years Before Darkness and are the descendants of the Ancient Fey, Thas Kesha. When The Age of Death began, Gnat and Gitaldis agreed that an army was needed. To grow this army, Altum gave the Thas Kesha the ability to reproduce. The children of the Thas Kesha were not full Fey, they had Fey features but had would age and die. The Tel'Fae would fight against the forces of Perdiotus for thousands of year.

Prosecution and Genocide

The reason behind The Tel'Fae Genocides is highly debated. What is known is that sometime in the age of darkness, The Human race, with its ability to reproduce much quicker than most other races began to gain control of most of Amare. This hunger for control lead to what scholars call the saddest moment in Amare history. The human nations began a massacre of the Tel'Fae. By the end of this massacre, very few Tel'fae were left alive. Choosing to hide deep in Tel'El Rûn and The Plausiblé Forest. Few Tel'Fae were able to keep there standing in the world, with a few holding nobility and power. However, for most of the Age of Darkness the majority of the Tel'Fae were hidden away in their impenetrable forests.
