Imperial Ecclesiarchy

The Imperial Ecclesiarchy, or simply the Imperial Church, is the parent organization of the Empyreal Faith in the Heartlands. The Ecclesiarchy is based in Egea, but its grasp reaches across most of Amanor. It has ecclesiastical jurisdiction over the church leaders and laity of almost every civilized nation that is known to the peoples of the Heartlands.

Structure

At the apex of the Imperial Ecclesiarchy stands the Pontarch, the supreme leader of the Empyreal Faith across the world. The Pontarch is the ultimate authority, responsible for setting religious doctrine, upholding the sacred traditions, and providing spiritual guidance to the faithful. It is the Pontarch who oversees the entire Ecclesiarchy and ensures its coherence and unity.
Directly beneath the Pontarch is the Archbishop, who serves as the overseer of the various dioceses within the Heartlands. The Archbishop acts as a supervisor of the Bishops, who hold leadership positions in their respective dioceses. Each diocese corresponds to a specific nation or region, such as Egea, Aredhen, or Caraegwyn. The Bishops are entrusted with the task of maintaining religious order, overseeing clergy, and fostering the spiritual growth of the faithful within their dioceses. Within each diocese, there are numerous congregations or parishes, each led by high priests, priests, clerics and other such titles. These congregations serve as the foundation of the Ecclesiarchy, where religious services, rituals, and teachings take place.
