Arl / Arlessa (ARL / ar-LESSER)
Arls and arlessas are the governors of arlings in Caraegwyn. Arlings are small fiefdoms that make up a duchy (or province). The arl or arlessa swears fealty to the duc or ducessa of that duchy.
Arlings are not further divided into smaller fiefdoms, but other minor lords and ladies can live in the arling as well as claim holdings within them. They must swear fealty to the arl or arlessa.
