Tuath Demographics
Karregennig is a majority Bediz city, with large numbers of Jetins Kriores making up the largest of the Korrigan Tuath, followed by Teuz. The vast majority of the city, especially in the surrounding area, are Akitanian, but sizable percentages of the city's population hail from Tolosa, Anjev, Letha, La Manche and Gallia, as well as other regions. A large majority of those living permanently in the city belong to the Southern Church, but this shrinks when accounting for temporary and seasonal populations.Government
Karregennig is the seat of the Viscounty of Aunis, one of the closest allies of the Grand-Duc of Akitania, with the Viscont usually specially appointed by the Grand-Duc himself. As it hosts both Akitania's primary naval fleet and its Wind-Guard, control over the region is tightly managed by the Grand-Dug and the Viscont. In exchange, the city has the authority to mint its own coins and operate business free of royal taxes, which has made it a popular headquarters for merchants and tradesmen. The Viscont and the Grand-Duc appoint a mayor from one of three candidates submitted by the city's 100 member council, made up of merchants, Church leaders and military figures, as well as the nobility of Aunis.
