Personal history

War against the Eladan

Aifric Ironbringer rose from obscurity during High King Balor Oneye's campaign against Emain Ablach. A common soldier during the early stages of the war, Aifric rose through the ranks as she sacked ports along the southern coast, becoming one of the Dread-Eye's most trusted lieutenants.   Aifric was given command of the Black Fleet, the scourge of the Northern coast, but her arrogance led her to a rash attack on the golden citadel of Tir na nÓg. The battle went badly and the warlord lost an arm in the fighting. While she quickly received a mechanical prosthetic, the loss would prevent the ambitious Aifric from claiming the throne of either the Sidhe or the Fomorii.   Aifric was enraged, blaming the Eladan for her condition. She gathered her fleet and retaliated, launching a brutal campaign against the Sidhe, focusing her efforts on destroying the city of Murias. She began to carry weapons made of cold iron, a material painfully toxic to the Sidhe and carrying painful cultural baggage. This taboo action was seen as evidence of her wanton cruelty as she massacred outlying villages and fishing fleets. her cruelest action came during the siege of Murias, when she constructed massive barges laden with siege weapons, launching a rain of iron spikes and balls into the besieged city. As a result of this siege, Aifric became feared by both the Eladan and Fomorii alike, gaining the dread moniker "Ironbringer"

After the War

After Balor's defeat, Aifric took advantage of her position and reputation, consolidating control over the fleet of dreadships fleeing to Tevenn Du. She arrived first, swaering fealty to King Conand Blackcliff and preparing for her enemies to arrive. Her faction became known as the Cliffwalkers, a semi-mercenary group overseeing the defense of the island.   Aifric was instrumental in the fall of Aett Hastings, blocking her primary rival from returning to Tevenn Du. As a result, Hastings Fireforged launched his campaign against The Armorican Peninsula, and his family, including his daughter Azelma an Diuid were exiled when he fell out of favour.

Present Day

With her primary military rival gone, Aifric must contend with an uneasy truce between the remaining factions, led by Beolagh the Clever and Feldam the Groveler. All three exist in a delicate balance, all ostensibly under King Conand's rule, while also plotting his downfall.

Sexuality

Bisexual

Intellectual Characteristics

Aifric is direct and brutal, relying on strength and fear over subterfuge and diplomacy. She has a reputation as a savage brute, a feral warlord from the stories. While this is certainly true, it hides the cunning mind of a clever military strategist.
