Aelez (a.k.a. The Red Hood)

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Aelez's face is painted with pale blue tattoos that glow in moonlight, taking the form of a long stripe horizontally below her eyes and over the bridge of her nose, with small dots beneath it. A slashlike vertical stripe intersects with this to the left of her right eye. Three smaller slashes on her chin complete the design.

Special abilities

In addition to her fearsome arsenal as a Garwaf, Aelez is a capable Similherez, focusing on shadow and flame.

She wears a black skirt and a shoulderless brown leather armoured vest, secured by three leather straps.   She wears a pair of brown leather gloves and nickelsteel vambraces. She wears a necklace decorated with a small silver hammer pendant.   Aelez's most distinctive apparel is her hooded cloak of brilliant red.

Specialized Equipment

Aelez fights with a nickelsteel dagger.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Aelez was the Veiðimaður (Hunter) of her Witch-Trinity, tasked with protecting the Horn of The Cailleach along with her two sisters, the Volva (Seer) Sveinsína and the Lögsögumaður (Speaker) Edit.   The traitorous Jarl Hauksteinn, rebelled against Queen Malgven, blaming her for the death of his sons at Gandvik. Aided by the Manchais Similherez Grimalkin, he launched an attack on Gullfoss, a diversion to steal the Horn and bring about Malgven's downfall. Sveinsína was killed during the theft, with Edit falling on the black sand beaches of Vik.   Aelez destroyed all but one of Hauksteinn's ships, killing the Jarl and Grimalkin, but failing to secure the horn. Her longship crashed in the Bro Bagan and she set about tracking down the horn over the centuries, banished from her homeland for her failings.   Despondent and bitter, Aelez found herself in Acrasia Beldam's Bower of Bliss, where she struck a deal with the huntress, becoming a Garwaf and Acrasia's new enforcer.

Failures & Embarrassments

The loss of the Horn and the death of her sisters remains a black mark on Aelez's history, barring her from returning home and denying her entry into Valhalla.
