On Sorcerers
Purpose
Jannet's purpose in writing and studying the topic was to give borth scholars, arcanists and the public a better and broader understanding of sorcerers because of the backlash they have faced throughout history and especially by Thornheart themselves. In addition to revealing interesting and important numbers around the topic, Jannet also managed to shed some light on Thornheart and their grevious actions during the magic purge. This helped the public image of Shimmerford, but also made them take more responsibility in light of their many mistakes throughout history.

Historical Details
Public Reaction
The public reaction to Jannet's On Sorcerers was quite varied. On one half the people finally got answers on how sorcerers come to and how many people are born with magic among the races. But on the other hand, many readers, especially the younger readers wanted to test themself for magic, and because of the lack of proper tests mentioned in the book, most youth made their own tests and trials to identify sorcerers. One of these tests became known as the "Flynt's Leap of Faith", called up after Flynt Sanchel who was a sorcerer in Fangorn who's powers manifested after a failed suicide attempt where he jumped of the Sun Tower. Atleast 13 teenagers died during the popularity of this test, and 34 others were also believed to have died in various ways trying to awaken magical talents. Because of the problems that occured with these tests, a new warning label had to be added into newer prints of the book, in an attempt to stop these tests.
