Personal history

One God's Misfortune

When the goddess Tyche was slain by Moander during the Avatar Battles, two new enteties emerged from her essence and formed. One got her love, empathy and fondness for mortals, her name was Tymora. She would go on to be known as Lady Luck and be worshipped by all mortals who wished for their own luck and others. She became a beloved icon of hope and kindness. The other entity got Tyche's looks. Beshaba was not born from Tyche's powers or divinity, but rather her dead body reanimated and corrupted by Moander. Because of Moander's corruption and influence, Beshaba became the opposite of Tymora. Her jealousy and anger towards her gave birth to her own powers of misfortune and trickery.   When the Avatar Battles came to an end, most deities returned to their homes, but Beshaba was not allowed entrance beyond the astral gate as she was not divine. She was no god, and in the eyes of the other deities who once knew Tyche, she was an imposter wearing her skin as a disguise for her true ugliness. So instead of claiming a place next to her sister, she followed her creator Moander to the Abyss where she would claim a layer for herself known as the Waste of Misfortune. She made many enemies and allies in the Abyss. Figures such as Orcus, Zuggtmoy, Baphomet and Dagon hated her stay and would attempt to overthrow her layer which they deemed stolen from the true rulers of the Abyss. She managed to strengthen her grasp over her domain and with time, even managed to gain respect by the other demons and become part of the council of fiends.

New Calamity

During the New Calamity, Beshaba was chosen by Tharizdun to be part of his scheme to take over the prime plane. She was given the title of Prince of Calamity and her part of the prime would be the south west part of Tyrania. As the invasion begun, her role was manipulation and gaining followers to the cause on the prime plane through deception and worship. She was a powerful force on battle, but her newfound followers would become her most powerful tool. She managed to gain control over Decaris and its kingdom, even though the dragonborns gave her a difficult fight. Those who would not worship her and serve her rule were killed and because of dragonborn pride, many noble houses fell because of their unwillingness to serve, but many others served to continue their lineage. During her reign, Beshaba managed to build up many followers all across Aloth, and by its end she had managed to gain enough followers so that when she was killed, she instead ascended into godhood. She chose to manifest herself outside of the Abyss, beyond the astral gate. Her new domain would be Banehold, a plane of existance beyond most others. It had been abandoned long before her time and only a few entities still lived there. When she arrived she would breathe twisted life and misery into it once again and establish a new reign for herself.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Enemies

Beshaba has few allies and many enemies. Her time in the abyss made her the enemies of Baphomet, Dagon, Doresain, Orcus, and Zyggotmy. Her conflict with Tymora is also her most famous as it stems back to the day they were both born, but if it was one entity that could rival the hatred between Tymora and Beshaba, it would be Fraz-Urb'luu. During her time in the Abyss, the two demon princes got on bad sides as they both saw themselves as the most deceptive and manipulative. Even though others claim the same, the two figures became quick enemies and would go on to scheme and plot against eachother and have their followers do the same.

Teasif

Beshaba is also believed to be the main plotter behind Kord's death as she feared his intervention during the New Calamity. As the divine ban did not apply to him, he could intervene at will. Because of this fear, Beshaba manipulated Teasif into fighting Kord and the battle would end with Kord's defeat and death. After the battle, word reached Teasif of Beshaba's manipulation and swore to kill her for it, but his lack of reach into the prime made it impossible for him to take his revenge.

Graz'zt

Graz'zt and Beshaba became allies during the New Calamity, not by choice, but of circumstance. Even though they did not choose to be on the same side, the two demon princes became fond of eachother and would become partners in one of the most abusive and toxic relationships in history. The two would go so far as to have a child together, but when the calamity was over the child was lost and Graz'zt had been killed. It is unknown what reaction Beshaba had to Graz'zt's return in A4 650.

Moander's Death

Beshaba and Moander was close allies for a long time after her creation at his hands. He became sort of a guardian for her as he regarded her as his only child, and Tymora as a stain on his work in the corruption of Tyche. The two would become a strong force and it is believed Beshaba was a vital part in his plan to eradicate Lolth and her minions, sowing deciet among the race and often impersonating Lolth herself. When the drow had moslty been killed by Moander, he took refuge in the Underdark. Moander was eventually killed by Doresain during Doresain's conquest for the White Kingdom, an event which Beshaba was unable to intervene in because of the astral gate which she was now locked behind. Beshaba's distain for Doresain was born during her time in the Abyss, but fueled into pure hatred after he killed Moander.
