Korydun

One of the famous Temple Cities of Norell, Korydun is a bastion of knowledge dedicated to Korystine. Korydun is most known for the iconic Sapphire Spires that lie in the heart of the city. The three Sapphire Spires are intentionally designed with different interior layouts and the outside of each of the spires has a unique spiral design. The East and West spires contain the two largest libraries within the city. The North spire contains the grand temple as well as the living quarters for the high ranked members of The Church of the Sapphire Eye The entire city is triangular in shape with one side facing the water and the other two facing the land.

Government

The city is governed by the Supreme Archivist and The Church of the Sapphire Eye. The Sapphire Archivists of the chrurch are divided into different departments that handle different aspects of the city.

Defences

Given the city's unique shape the city has equally unique defenses. The two sides of the city are walled up and have a moat surrounding the inside and the outside. The walls extend outward into the ocean where an underwater inverted portcullis sits. In times of attack, the portcullis is raised so that ships cannot make it to the city without sinking. The city is also home to The Knights of Erudition, an elite knightly order trained to the point where every knight is a fearsome strategist. Korydun is also said to have a number of hidden defenses but these rumors have yet to be tested.

Geography

Korydun sits on the western coast of Norell so on one side lies The Scymrian Ocean and on the other lies rolling hills and groves of trees. Despite being on the coast of the continent Korydun sits directly on top of a large stone formation located just 10 ft under the ground.

Natural Resources

Within the rock formation on which Korydun sits, the builders of the city discovered a staggering amount of sapphire deposits. Many attribute this to the knowledge and wisdom of their goddess who guided them there. The city also takes advantage of their location take part in farming and livestock as well as fishing.
