Dwarf

Dwarves originate from the vast nation of Øssplass. Their ancient history suggests that the common mountain and hill dwarves of Alnheim we see today were both descended from a long extinct species of underground dwelling Dwarves known as Druergar. The Dwarves set sail from Øssplass in the year 0 AD, under the reign of Emperor Alforbil I, who sought to expand Dwarvish territory across the known world. The Dwarves landed on the shores of Vold in the same year, and aided the Dragonborn in what came to be known as The Great War of Vold. The Forgemasters crafted The Stone of the Ancients under the guidance of Forgemaster Tormund, Blacksmith of the Gods, and rid the world of the demon armies of Mordruss the Black.   Once the war had ended, the Dwarves settled vast cities in their natural habitats, and so dug out mountains to build the cities of Skjegg, and Dvergstad, the capital city.   The Dwarves then set about doing what they do best; mining the surrounding landscape for precious gems and metals, and began Vold's first intercontinental trade route with their motherland, Øssplass, now under the reign of Alforbil I's eldest son, Alforbil II. This started an economy that would begin to boom in the coming centuries.
