Alnheim
The ancient world of Alnheim is one that is used to constant change. The continents of Vold, Coetir, Vel'or, Østplass, Frostfell, and Caltir have been there since before time holds record, however they have not withered. In the Age of the Dwarves, the first Dwarvish High Emperor Alforbil I was obsessed with expanding the Dwarvish nation of as far as he possibly could, starting from Øssplass, and wherever the seas would take them. It was as the ancient dwarves set sail to colonise new land that they discovered the southern land, which was to be named by them as Vold. However, Vold was not the fantasy new haven that they had sought.
Vold, in the year 0 AD, was being torn apart by a raging war. The Nine Dragons had become eight, as Mordruss the Black had turned his back on his brothers and sisters, and led an army of demons and fiends to ravage and murder all other forms of life in Alnheim, starting with the Dragonborn natives of Vold. The Dwarves aided as they could, in return for a promise of co-habitation. The Stone of the Ancients was built by the First Forgemasters, and the war was brought to an end, and a long lasting and trustworthy friendship between Dwarves and Dragonborn began in Vold. Across the Sea of Rubies, in the south of Vold, the Humans and Orcs resided, and in the year 124 AD, they joined the alliance between the Dwarves and Dragonborn, and thus, the Order was formed. Further south, where the exiles and miscreants of Alnheim resided, there was a new threat. The south of Vold is a barren desert wasteland, home to bandits and barbarians. In order to keep the newly saved citizens of Vold from harm, the first Human High Councillor, High Councillor Myfanwy I, ordered a wall to be built, and protected it with magic. This saw the golden age of Vold begin.
North of the continent of Vold, lies the island of Frostfell. Frostfell is home to a kingdom of Humans, however unlike their southern cousins, they do not enjoy the company of other races. The land has known only one rule; that of the Hart family. The Harts rule over Frostfell with a tyrannical hand, and any non-human residing in Frostfell is there as a slave. Jory Hart claimed the land as his own, so the records say, in the year 1000 EG (year 0 of the Frostfell calendar), as he was the first born child of Jarvan, an ascended God.
The west is home to the Elves; Vel'or. Vel'or could be considered a beautiful and illustrious land, with soaring mountain ranges and endless lakes, a pure getaway where peace is paramount. This would be accurate only to the degree that it describes the sights. Vel'or is, and always was, a land where Elves war against each other relentlessly to gain control of the continent. Elves are given few choices in life. The neverending wars between the Elvish nations have sent billions of young elves to their graves.
Finally, we come to Caltir. Caltir is a secluded continent split into two nations; Gortir and Deitir. The two nations are peaceful, and very cold. The two nations were formed when the initial nation of Caltir was founded by two brothers, Joseff and Emyr Jwern. They ran the country as joint Kings for a total of six months, before their bickering led to them splitting the country in two, and ruling each half their own way. Emyr Jwern’s bloodline still lives in Gortir, however not as monarchs, and Joseff Jwern’s bloodline was thought to have long since died out.
