Gloom Druids

"It's not a phase Grove Tender. Gosh." - Gloom Druid

Gloom Druids differ from their tribemates. Social outcasts, they draw their magic from other sources than regular Druids and those that practice traditional Druidic rituals. Typical Druids draw their magic from nature itself, or some font of magic that has been purified and provides energies necessary for the Druids to draw upon for their healing magics and various plant crafting techniques. Some Druids worship nature gods or even a Grove Tender.

A Grove Tender is a lead Druid, free from any governing control of surrounding lands. Normally they are anchored to a particular area of woods or forest. Many Grove Tenders are ancient and have existed since before written history. Alongside the Grove Tender gods of healing, nurturing, fertility, and life guide Druids through the wind on leaves and visions in their dreams. A Druid's life is devoted to worshipping these beings to learn their wisdom and any magics they may impart on them. Druids are almost universally good-aligned across the entirety of Aliria. Though there are outcasts among every society, even nature-worshipping hermit societies.

A Gloom Druid has been cast out of typical Druidic Circles for delving into magics that are outside the tradition of proper Druidism. They are not necessarily nefarious beings, or even using nefarious magic, just simply misunderstood. Though there have been Gloom Druids that have practiced a natural form of Necromancy, which is looked down upon by most societies. Gloom Druids, or Gloomers, are often seen worshipping gods that go against the pacifist Druid ways. Gods of War, Chaos, and Death. They tend to dye their clothes black to match the midnight sky. They prefer the moons to the sun for times of worship, and from them they draw their magic.
