Isifunda
the Last Highfist Stronghold
Isifunda is a Dwarf city built into the heart of Mount Glincore in the Katiland Range of the Cutting Mountains, on the major continent of Ethae. The city is the home of the Clan Highfist clan, and the stronghold at the center of the vast network of power. While the city is common knowledge to those that know the dwarves, its location within the mountain is a guarded secret. None but dwarves may ever known Isifunda's location, or enter the city. It does not matter the alliance, bond, or friendship, the city remains hidden from all but their people.
The city is the last of six Highfist cities within the mountain. It is also said to be the least interesting in regard to its architecture compared is its lost sisters. A bold statement for those dwarves that have seen Isifunda and been willing to share with others what they saw. Highfist architecture is heavily influenced by the vast mushroom forests throughout the natural caverns of the Night Below. Natural mushrooms are grown around the city as trees might be in a surface town. Building, support columns, even lights, show this stylistic motifs. Nothing shows this more clearly than the massive stone mushroom at the center of Isifunda that houses the royal castle of the Highfists at its top.
Unless it is a dwarven merchant, trade is done through distant outpost in the tunnels of Waterdeep, or in the valley towns outside Mount Glincore. More often than not, it is the dwarves that travel to other towns and cities representing Isifunda.
