Magical Tools and Weapons

Enchanted items are any tool, piece of clothing, or weapon that has been imbued with magical properties and effects. Simply put, enchanted items are any item that is enhanced somehow with Magic.

Most materials of Aldern, especially metals and gems have some level of internal magic in the form of Kianon. Many master crafters, blacksmiths, and weavers have learned ancient techniques to draw this power out to make their items better than normal. Wizard, such as the Evoker and Illusionist, have taken this to the next level, using this internal magic, and augmenting it with other material to create new effects for items.

This is a dying art in the modern day. Be it through masters not passing on their knowledge, propaganda from the Church demonizing powerful destructive magic items, or the weakening of magic over the centuries, the art of creating enchanted items is nearly a lost art. There are exceptions of course. Nura orbs are technically enchanted items, but are so engrained in society, that most do not even remember this. Disposable items like potions and charms are easily made and far more financially viable for your everyday enchanter to create. Powerful artifacts of old are far to time intensive, need expensive materials, and years of knowledge and study.
