The southern most, and tallest peak of the Daranoth Mountains, Canoheth Peak is an isolated mountain deep in Monanad in central Jerain. The mountain is a dormant volcano. The volcano's name comes from the ancient Canoheth people that, according to myth, dwelt in the region in the prehistoric periods. Its remote location a deadly region of major continent of Ethae means there are only sporadic references to the mountains in texts throughout the ages.
What little is known of the volcano primarily comes for legends. Stories claim the mountain was created during the Aggelomachy by a powerful Jerai, whose name is lost to history. He is said to have called magma up for the heart of Aldern to destroy his enemies. The wound in the world never healed, growing the mountain over time. It is unknown when Canoheth Peak became dormant, but the last known human to travel to the mountains was in 6624sc of the Novyum age. Their records show the mountains as cold and desolate outside of being a sanctuary for hundreds of avian species. These explorers also claimed that Magic is extremely unstable on, and around, the mountain.
