Brother Culhwch

Brother Culhwch, born Culhwch mabOlwen is the current Abbot of the Abbey of Denier of Lichfield, and so the "First among Equals" of all the abbots of the Monks of Denier. He has a personal seat on the Witena as a representative of a major religion, and is also a learned man who has been in the monastic life since 4 years old.
Today he manages the affairs of his monastry, the affairs of the order in general, as well as taking every 8th day to write of his life as is custom.
He is minorly sparked, which helped him achieve such heights, and is an 8th level Knowledge cleric.

He is a bit pudgy, but in overall good health

Special abilities

He has a basic understanding of arcane magic, and can even cast a first level arcane spell if given a scroll. However, his more powerful ability is being able to copy any scroll of any kind, given enough time and materials.

He wears the robes of his order which have the title of every book he has ever copied stiched into them. It has gotten a bit long recently. He nearly always carries a book with him

Born the 5th child of his parents, he was given to the monastry at the tender young age of 4.

Education

Being a monk of Deneir the Wise, he is incredibly literate and intelligent, being able to write in 8 languages, as well as being an excellent artist. He has read most of the books in the library, and copied perhaps 500 books in his time, though he rarely copies books today.

Employment

He progressed quickly in the monastic order, earning the title of Junior Scribe at the young age of 15, and becoming a full Scibe of the order at 22, younger than any in the past 30 years. He moved to Lichfield at 32 when he became a senior scribe, and slowly worked his way up the hierarchy until when the previous abbot retired, he was in prime position to take his place at only 39 years old.
He has never had any employment outside the monastry, even the shift from his home monastry to the one in Lichfield was dramatic.

Accomplishments & Achievements

He has the unique honour of having written a book which currently sit in the collection of the Duke of Lutia, King of Albion, as well as a few copies that have been sent to various other dukes and monastries as presents. This book, "A History of Eudioa from the Fall of Tiamaat" was a popular piece, if incredibly compressed and cursory, and now has been copied nearly 86 times.
He has also become the First Abbot of The Monastic Order of the Followers of Deneir the Wise, a title less than 400 people have ever held.

Failures & Embarrassments

He once ruined his monastries only copy of "A Treatise on The Proper Methods of Cooking Pidgeons", a beautifully illustrated manual written in the year 6432, by spilling ink through 17 pages. They had to send off for another copy from Westumbria.

Intellectual Characteristics

He has an excellent memory, and can nearly perfectly recall every book he has copied, and recall quite well every book he has read. As such, he tends to quote books when he talks.

He believes that fundamentally everything should be recorded for all time, but accepts that he cannot do that as of yet.

Taboos

Burn a book in front of him and you will learn that the Monks of Deneir do not take a vow of non-violence.

All monks of Deneir keep scrupulously clean at all times, they have copied too many health and wellness books to do otherwise.

Contacts & Relations

He has had personal contact with the King of Albion on many occasions, and is a sitting member of the Witena. As such, he is the kind of person who could easily contact any person in the nation, or most people outside it, and expect to be heard. He is friendly with most of the other good or lawful church leaders, as well as all but one of the dukes (Suthalbia).

Religious Views

Deneir is the most important god, though all the others of the pantheon exist, including Bahamut, who he prays to regularily. His personal views align most with Deneirs, and so he follows him.

Social Aptitude

He is moderatly charming, but also incredibly intelligent and wise. However, he has also taught dozens to read and write, and so has the patience of a teacher.

He enjoys stargazing, and looking at the 12 wandering stars.

His natural accent is very rural and seaside, but he has refined it to be more like the common Eudioan. He can also switch to standard Friedish if needed.

He has no possessions, having taken the Vow of Poverty at the age of 22. However, he commands around 25000 gp per year of spending, though this is averaged, and a mean year sees only 10000 gp spent.

He natively speaks Eudioan, a mutually intelligable dialect of Friedish, and has studied and speaks (and reads/writes) well in standard Friedish, Aldfried, Elvish, Khuzdul, Teutish, Emenian, Draconic and Celestial. At some point he has written in every language that can be easily found in Albion, as well as those that can no longer be found.
