Picta
Yet another walking toad that sprung into Faultpike. Though he's much smaller than his buddy Otaine, and could even pass as an earthly creature, he's boundlessly stronger. While some slaadi have fickle, mutable shapes, Picta can warp himself however he wants, becoming unrecognizable or eve invisible. Slaadi are already gifted leapers, but Picta can fly outright, tumbling through the air and pushing himself around without touching a solid surface. He has a plethora of destructive spells, and hasn't revealed even half of them yet.
Fortunately, Picta's many skills came with experience and maturity, and he knows how to entertain himself without hurting others. Yet it's still very easy to fool him--for a few terrible days, Picta worked with a group of burglars, who convinced him that they were just "borrowing." Once Otaine helped him realize his mistake, he decided to use his powers only for entertainment; he won't lend them to anyone in Faultpike, even if he could really help.
Developments - Act III
None of the slaadi were happy to hide from the Signeadown, but Picta was hit hardest. It was almost impossible to convince him to stay hidden, especially when a woman died protecting him: the Signeadown knew she was hiding something, but she kept Picta's existence and location a secret until the end.
Picta is used to doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and that includes stopping any harm that would come to his friends. For the first time, he feels like a useless lump, and he doesn't know how to handle it.
In an especially low moment, Picta even considered becoming one of those demon-slaadi who caused so much trouble in the past. It would corrupt him terribly, but in a way that would still let him fight the signets. The idea scares him--he's never heard of the "death slaad" but in horrified whispers--but his options are fading each day.
