Earthly

It's difficult to categorize the peoples of Agrophon into species. Some of them, like humans, were left to their own evolutionary devices; other peoples were engineered with a bit of divine meddling. And, as a rule, the gods don't keep notes. None that mortals can see, at least.   The humanoid species was defined to include all those peoples who might appear in a human's lineage. This includes half-elves and half-orcs, and by extension, elves and orcs. Halflings are considered earthly, being slight alterations of humans; elf-halflings and orc-halflings are possible, but extremely rare. Tieflings are also considered earthly, being earthly species with visible fiendish influence.   The term "humanoid" was obviously coined by humans, and fell out of favor in the 5th century. Now members of the species are called "earthlies." Other names include "terrigin," "mundane," and in the most sardonic cases, "earthling."   Many places in Agrophon are almost entirely populated by earthlies, especially in countries like Kudo and Ornity. Some of them can go their whole lives without knowing an unearthly on a first name basis. Plenty of unearthlies are eager to change that.
