Ilyonic Sea
A massive body of water in the center of the continent of Ëaqelun. The Ilyonic Sea is the lifegiving feature for many species of animals as well as intelligent races in Ëaqelun. Together with the Sea of Lyaur it forms a sharp contrast to the otherwise dry interior of the continent. The Ilyonic Sea is rich on fish, the coastlines provide fertile farmlands and the surrounding forests are filled with a plethora of wildlife. Due to its significance, the Ilyonic Sea has always been an important factor for development of any realm located in its vicinity and host to the biggest realms of Ëaqelun. The discovery of the Ilyonic Sea happened in 343 by explorers of the Empire of Carodin. They gave the sea the name "Enet-Ilyonda" - "The Wondrous Sea", encounting it after months of travel through seemingly endless forests, grassland and dry steppes. With the expansion of the realm came the founding of many cities, the biggest and most important beeing Anat which even became the capital of the Empire for a short time during the Third Cycle.
Although Carodin fell, the Ilyonic Sea kept her importance by becoming home to the two most powerful successor kingdoms: The Kingdom of Edrun and the Empire of Vodjin.
