Nolan Lane, best known as Bookkeeper, is a Sentinel Civic Official and the right-hand man of the Calamity Anvil.

Lane is a powerful and experienced hero. His years of experience as a soldier and a hero make him a formidable warrior.

• Superhuman Durability: Lane can endure harsh physical harm with minimal long lasting damage. His durability is extreme even among other Amps due to the nature of his powers.

• Accelerated Regenerative Healing: As an Amp, Lane’s body can heal from injury at a faster rate than an ordinary human.
• Keepscape: By invoking specific runic symbols he writes, Lane can create a variety of effects. These runes can create explosive blasts, shields, or enhance the power of his blows. These runes are also grated to his skin so he can access them even without a book. Lane does risk harming himself when using his body runes.

Personal history

Nolan Lane was born in Ash Wood. He grew up to be a historian specializing in symbols from ancient cultures. As a child, he had constant visions of mysterious patterns that he felt compelled to draw, which would lead to the discovery of his powers when these drawings would cause fires. He soon found himself in the middle of the The Cape’s War, fighting on the behalf of Ameralia. His heroism in defending his people earned him the respect of Anvil, the ruler of Ash Wood. Lane would then become one of Sentinel's heroes, working as Anvil's assistant. After decades of service, he then became the Civic Official of Ash Wood, serving as the district's defender.
