Aethertitans are colossal entities born from the catastrophic event known as The Sundering, which infused the very essence of magic into beings across Aethria. These titanic creatures embody the raw, volatile energy of the Aethers, making them immensely powerful and often destructive forces of nature. Their existence is a reminder of the chaos wrought by the Sundering, blending majesty and monstrosity in forms that symbolize the warped magic of their origins.
Each Aethertitan resonates with a Primary Aether, a fundamental magical essence that governs its unique attributes. This resonance defines their immense strengths as well as their vulnerabilities, making them both awe-inspiring and dangerous. Their immense size and magical potency make them one of the greatest threats to the civilizations of Aethria, as they can easily destabilize the natural balance of the world.
To counter these formidable beings, the Citadel of the Dawn was established during the Age of Rebuilding. This institution serves as a beacon of hope and a training ground for elite monster hunters, known as Hunters. Armed with knowledge and tools tailored to combating the titans, these Hunters rely on resources such as the Bestiary, a detailed tome cataloging the behaviors, vulnerabilities, and Aetherial connections of Aethertitans. They also utilize specialized tools like the Aetherscope to identify a Titan's Primary Aether and Signet Rings that allow them to channel opposing Aethers into their weapons or spells, exploiting the creatures' vulnerabilities to defeat them.
Despite the efforts of the Citadel and its Hunters, Aethertitans remain a pervasive and deadly threat, challenging the resilience and unity of Aethria's people.
